Yang Wang
Yang Wang will serve as our independent director since May 2025. Dr. Wang is a professor in mathematics, specializing in blockchain technology, data science, and applied mathematics. Since joining the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in August 2014, Dr. Wang served as the head of the Department of Mathematics from August 2014 to October 2016, the dean of the School of Science from November 2016 to September 2020, and the Vice-President for Institutional Advancement from 2020 to March 2025. Dr. Wang has been awarded the title of Chair Professor of Department of Mathematics at HKUST since August 2014. He currently serves as a director of Iflytek Medical Technology Co. (HKEX: 2506). Dr. Wang obtained his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China, and his MS and PhD degrees in mathematics from Harvard University.
